HP Aircraft is a composite aircraft development firm located in Arnold, California in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Our primary product is the HP-24, a high-performance sailplane you build in your workshop from our DIY kit. The HP-24 is a sweet flying sailplane that has all the features and amenities you’d expect from a European production sailplane, but at a fraction of the cost. But our products also include performance upgrade parts for racing airplanes and jets.
We also conduct regular “akaflieg” build sessions, where people from all over the world get hands-on experience fabricating composite aircraft parts from carbon, Kevlar, and fiberglass materials.
We have a Facebook page for HP Aircraft, and a Facebook page for the HP-24 kit sailplane. There’s also an old-school site for the HP-24 that I hand-coded in HTML back in the day. We don’t maintain it anymore, but it is still a valuable reference for the Resourceful Builder.
